(A love letter to Structured, the app that saved my brain)
Somewhere between running a business, chasing toddlers, managing client work, and keeping a household semi-alive… my brain just couldn’t anymore.
I’d sit down at my desk with the best intentions, maybe even a to-do list, and within ten minutes I’d find myself knee-deep in an email thread I didn’t need to open, spiralling into a rabbit hole of “quick fixes,” or suddenly feeling the urgent need to redesign my entire website. Sound familiar?
For a long time, I thought this was just how my brain worked. ADHD, perfectionism, and a touch of shiny object syndrome? Classic founder energy. I tried Google Calendar. I tried Notion. I even tried the old pen-and-paper planner trick.
But everything felt too much. Too rigid. Too noisy.
Not in a big, my life is now magically sorted kind of way. I actually stumbled across it on TikTok during one of those late-night scrolls I definitely shouldn’t have been doing. But something about it made me pause (rare, in that scroll state). So I downloaded it. I had low expectations, because honestly? I’ve tried everything.
But within a day, everything shifted.
Not because I suddenly became someone who sticks to a strict schedule (definitely not). But because Structured gave me just enough structure to feel like I was in control without overwhelming me.
It felt like a visual exhale.
Instead of a chaotic to-do list floating in my head, I had a clear, beautiful outline of my day. One that showed me:
👉 What I was working on and when
👉 What I’d already achieved (cue: dopamine hit)
👉 What could wait
👉 Where my mental space was actually going
One of my favourite features is the “Inbox.”
Whenever a rogue idea pops into my head – an Instagram post I want to write, something I need to order for the kids, a client project I need to follow up on – I don’t have to act on it straight away. I just pop it into the Inbox, and suddenly it’s not clogging up my brain. It’s safely stored, ready for later.
It’s like Structured understands how founder brains work.
The best part? At the end of the day, I’m no longer sitting there feeling like I’ve been busy but got nothing done. I can actually see my progress. I can reflect on what mattered. I can close the laptop without spiralling into “what did I even do today?” mode.
And honestly, that’s life-changing.
As someone who’s tried all the systems, all the planners, all the hacks, Structured is the only tool that’s actually stuck. It’s flexible enough for my real life, smart enough to keep me focused, and gentle enough to work with my energy, not against it.
Would I recommend it for fellow founders with ADHD, kids, and chaos? Absolutely. Especially if you’ve ever:
👉 Opened your laptop only to spiral into 14 tasks at once
👉 Started a to-do list and abandoned it by 10am
👉 Spent your evening scrolling, feeling guilty about not doing more
👉 Or felt like your brain is juggling flaming swords all day
Structured has changed my workdays, my energy, and my evenings. I now schedule low-lift, low-pressure tasks during those lazy, phone-in-bed hours (rather than just doom scrolling). And somehow, I’m getting more done and feeling more rested.
It’s not about being perfectly productive. It’s about feeling a little more in control, a little less scattered, and a lot more sane.
And for me? That’s everything.
