Slow Moments, Singing Animals, and Other Soft Joys

I’m writing this with one eye on my laptop and the other glued to White Lotus.

Let me just say—that opening scene? Intense. Every new episode is like a soft swirl of beauty and drama… until someone casually drops a line that makes you go: wait, was that a clue? I’m fully in investigator mode, trying to pick apart each frame while pretending I’m just enjoying the scenery. (But really, I’m here for the chaos and the slow-burn tension.)

While I spiral over who did it, I thought I’d share a few little things that are making me feel grounded and inspired lately—from home styling projects to tiny winter wardrobe dreams and my favourite moment of the week (which involves a toddler and a singing pig).

Home: My Faux Country Cottage in Progress

There’s something about autumn that makes me want to slow down and rearrange everything. This month, I’ve been gently transforming our home into the Pinterest-perfect faux country cottage of my dreams.

We’ve been in this space for a while, but only recently have I started approaching each room with fresh eyes. Not a full renovation—just thoughtful little changes to make it feel softer, warmer, more “us.”

👉 In March, I finished adding a half wall to break up an oversized, underused space. It instantly gave the room more purpose and character.

👉 In April, I’ll be adding curtains near the entrance to soften the space and swapping out the beachy artwork for something a little more cottage core. Think vintage landscapes, dusty frames, soft colour palettes—the kind of art that feels like it came with the house.

It’s slow, dreamy work—but the kind that makes you feel at home in your home.

Wardrobe: Manifesting Cosy Weather, One Zara Order at a Time

I know I live in Queensland, and I know we’re blessed with warm weather nearly all year—but my cold-weather-loving heart is dreaming of chilly mornings, knit jumpers, and layered outfits that whisper books and bakeries.

Unfortunately, it’s still hot. But that hasn’t stopped me from starting to build my winter wardrobe.

This week’s favourites?

👉 Two pieces from Zara that I already know will be on heavy rotation as soon as the weather drops below 25°C.

They’re soft, slightly structured, and give off just the right amount of Euro winter girl energy.

Maybe I was meant to live somewhere with actual seasons. A girl can dream.

Moments: Movie Nights & Slow Cuddles

My toddler has finally hit the age where he’ll sit still long enough to watch a whole movie.

We’ve been putting on Sing and snuggling on the couch—him wide-eyed and giggling, me just soaking up the fact that I get to share these tiny, still moments with my busy little human.

It’s been such a sweet shift that I’m even thinking of starting Friday Family Movie Nights.

👉 Aircon blasting

👉 Hot chocolate in hand

👉 Blankets everywhere

👉 One of those corny feel-good family movies queued up

It’s not Pinterest-perfect. But it’s real and warm and ours. And honestly? That’s my favourite kind of moment.

So that’s what I’m loving lately—

A little White Lotus drama

A few home tweaks with a side of soft neutrals

Prepping for a winter I’m not sure will arrive

And the joy of watching my son laugh at animated animals like it’s the first time, every time
